For over twenty years Antonio "Tony" Hernandez, Jr. has been an early childhood educator who creates and develops practices that build a classroom community where every learner has a sense of purpose, engagement and belonging. As an advocate for social justice, he continues to use these practices among adult learners and diversity practitioners to have meaningful conversations that emphasize the value they bring to a community.
Tony received a BS degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Millersville University and a Master’s of Arts in Educational Leadership and Human Development from George Washington University. He is a National School Reform Faculty certified Critical Friends Group Facilitator and has served as an Affinity Group Facilitator for the National Association of Independent Schools People of Color Conference.
Tony's interest in seeing community engagement has lead him to volunteer on various boards of directors. He serves as a Commissioner for Millersville University President’s Commission for Cultural Diversity and Inclusion, a Lancaster County representative on the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts in the heart of Pennsylvania and as a board member for the Leadership Lancaster program.
